I have just changed this site so that by default all approved comments provide live followed links back to your website once you have left 3 comments.
Usually sites based on WordPress add a “nofollow” tag to all comment links. This prevents search engines from counting the link for the purposes of ranking/relevance. I do not think that this is fair! If you have taken the time to write valid comments then I think that you deserve a live link!
Please remember that all comments have to be approved by me, and that comments unsympathetic to people with debt problems will never be approved.

Hi Neil, my name is Jared McMorris, I run the wealth-ed website for my father. This is very interesting to me, I knew about the nofollow markup in wordpress and have been submitting our website to dofollow blog carnivals. I am interested in disabling nofollow on our website as well, is this a plugin that you are using? Thanks!

Hi Jared
Thanks for visiting! Yes, I’m using the plugin Lucia’s Linky Love. Don’t be fooled by the slightly naff name, this is a powerful plugin that enables you to reward regular commentators and not one-off spammers. Visit the info/download page – http://money.bigbucksblogger.c.....t-spammers
I have not had any problems using it – works a treat!
Good luck
Neil

I think it’s a nice thing to have do follows on your commentors link. Given something back to those who contribute to the blog. As long as a blog is not over-spammed it should have dofollow enabled. Most of the people commenting has a website or blog with relevant content to the post they comment on anyway:)
